Had an enjoyable day tracking the European wasps that have been invading the bee hives (enjoyable mainly because it involved a good deal of lying on the ground looking at the sky), and doing some repairs I’ve had on the to do list for at least a year.

Re-upholstered my great grandfather’s bee smoker… the leather on the bellows was cracked. Works a treat now.

Repaired the ‘D’ key on my grandmother’s typewriter which my late uncle Denis broke while demonstrating how he could type his name with his foot. I love this piece of machinery (still having a rest on its side while being repaired). One day when I’m a grown up I’m going to have a study big enough to mount this on its own pedestal.
